Type N Long Span Deck
As a premier profile in our roof and floor deck offerings, the 3" depth of N Deck allows for longer spans not possible with lesser depth profiles. In addition to our standard 24 inch cover, Type N Deck is also available in a 32 inch cover option.
The increased span capability allows the use of a lighter gauge, which can prove to be cost effective. Also, because of its long span capability, the use of the N Decking will minimize support requirements. The narrow spacing between the ribs of the N Deck allows for rigid insulation or pouring concrete. The load carrying capabilities of the N Deck generally surpass that of other long span metal decks. Paired with a full range of deck accessories, Type N Deck creates a complete decking system for your project.

Type N Deck is manufactured in gauges ranging from 22 to 12, with heavier gauges providing greater load capacity for longer spans and lighter gauges offering a more cost effective option for shorter runs. Type N Deck earns its place on projects where reducing the number of structural supports matters as much as the load the deck can carry. Its 3 inch depth and narrow rib spacing make it a fit for roofing, flooring, and corrosive environments alike, which is why we stock it in three material options.
Long Span Roofing Systems
The deep rib profile gives Type N Deck the strength to span farther between purlins than shallower profiles, cutting down on the steel framing a roof needs. It is a common choice for buildings with large open interiors, such as gymnasiums, auditoriums, and warehouses, where fewer support columns mean more usable space underneath.
Floor Decking and Concrete Pours
The narrow spacing between ribs gives concrete a solid surface to bear on, making Type N Deck a practical form deck for pouring structural floor slabs. If your project calls for a composite floor system instead, our composite floor decks are built specifically for that need.
Caustic and Corrosive Environments
Stainless steel Type N Deck, available in both T304 and T316, holds up in environments where standard steel would corrode. This makes it a fit for facilities in the food processing and pulp and paper industries, where washdown chemicals and high humidity are part of daily operations.
